And Boris couldn’t be more excited. Since I have been hoping to get more in shape from having a dog to exercise I have been walking to get the mail around lunch time again. Its not as long of a walk as he would like, but its just enough to get the blood moving and not take too long of a break after eating to get distracted from work. And its really easy to get distracted from work when the sun is shining and the breeze is blowing and the birds are singing…but if I want to continue to justify working from home at all (although I’d love a part time or full time job that wouldn’t interfere with that) I need to get as much done as I possibly can. Now that we have PR2 its easier but I could still stand to make another couple hundred a month to fit the rent monthly into my salary.
Thats right, after all these months of hard work and trial and error we have page rank. I am so proud I could burst and actually spent the day dancing about and skipping I was so gleeful. Its now time to get some serious revisions done such as finally editing this theme or finding a new one, and creating a logo.
I’m also throwing about the idea of buying a domain and marketing the fleece toys I make for the boys as well as Boris’s Boo Biscuits, with a portion of profits going to Homeward Bound. Since I’m no longer sitting on PR0 its less scary to worry about buying a site that never gets traffic.
So its obvious the blog has kind of been neglected due to a series of unfortunate events. It will be less neglected in coming months, and a schedule is being worked out to keep it somewhat updated. But first a recap:
First my life got busy. Trying to earn enough money to not work out of the house is hard, especially when you have a energetic puppy to deal with. Long hours spent tiring him out and then getting work done late into the night isn’t great on your agenda for “spare time” in the least.
Then my laptop died in less than five minutes. The hard drive made a weird whiiring/clanking noise and then was just gone. If it weren’t for all the pictures I’v uploaded here I would nothing left. Who knows how expensive reclaiming the pictures off my hard drive will be. I don’t look forward to it, although it needs to be done eventually. Which leaves me on the desktop which sucks and is slow, and the keyboard stinks…its less than pleasant. Which makes work even slower.
And with the weather getting nicer I try to take the puppy for a walk to get the mail or work in the yard to keep him tired. Which leaves me working until 2am some days. I’m getting ahead in the game but may still have to get a job out of the house. We’ll see.
The good news is I logged into PayPerPost today to check on problems I was having using firefox to view it and we now have a Google PR of 2! All the hard work has paid off and now I can make more from posting. Seeing so many opportunities is like being a kid in a candy store.
So as its spring we will be looking for a new blog theme, or editing this one to finally look like its ours. And updating more frequently. So keep watching this space kids.
Sorry the blog has been a bit empty lately, its been snowing here for the past week or so, every couple of days so I’ve been busy shoveling and salting. I’ve also been out working with Boris on walking properly and had planned to update after class last night when we got to see if it paid off, but it was canceled due to snow. I’ve got some video to upload, some products and sites to review and that should be up tonight or tomorrow for the most part. Cheers.
Well, there are only so many days left till Christmas and its about time we gave the site a bit of holiday cheer. Look for touches around the site in content, graphics and effects. Have a Very Merry.
Thanks to the kind people over at Youtube.com we now have video of Boris we can share with everyone. Much easier to understand the special qualities of our favorite goofball when you can actually watch him rubbing estactically on a carrot before eating it, lol. Not all posts will have videos, but we will be adding a couple as we take them. Also brought to you by your local neighborhood CVS store manager (or at least our favorite ones) who helped us purchase a disposable camcorder and The Dollar Store who carries outdated data cables used to hack it and make it reusable. Isn’t the internet great?
