Pooch Pops

Jelsert (the same company that makes Ice Pops) used to make a product called Pooch Pops. They come in beef and cheese flavors, ten to a box for about a buck fifty. They don’t make them anymore. No one does. Fortunately we started our search this year before its too hot. We contacted jelsert and asked. They told us PetSmart had the remaining pops. We bought 12 boxes, treats, and a new Galileo bone for the boys. Not too bad for $50 to get free shipping, plus the 10% off sale that was going on. Also got a roll of vet wrap for the bad foot in there (Bo will not be happy about that one, lol). Took about a week to ship using the FedEx/USPS cheapo shipping. We’ll be stalking the mailman Saturday when its supposed to arrive. Too bad they stopped making the pops as when we’re out we’ll probably be out for good.

Smart Pak

SmartPak is a company right in Massachusetts that sells dog and horse feed as well as supplements in pre-measured containers in a month supply. They don’t sell cheap food either, just the good stuff and the prices aren’t bad either considering the convenience and benefits of feeding a known amount each and every time. They carry Wellness brand which is one of the best puppy foods, so we are looking at getting Boris and Cherokee hooked up with food and Missing Link once I get a real job. We figure it will cost us two more dollars to get both boys Missing Link than we pay for a bag right now. more than worth it in my opinion. Our big debate is ordering online/on the phone or taking advantage of an excuse to drive the hour and a half to visit the store and order in person. We wouldn’t save much in shipping, but its an excuse to take the dogs for a ride and see the place for ourselves. They are hiring employees, if only they weren’t so far away I’d be applying myself but 1.5hr drive is too much.

Visit them at www.smartpak.com for dog or horse feed, supplements, and supplies. You’ll be glad you did (I am).

Dogster.com

Somehow I managed to navigate my way through cyber space to dogster.com this past week while taking a bit of a break from work and such. Its a very lovely site with more features than I currently can understand at this point. But you get to make profiles for your dogs and they can be friends with each other which leads me to think its kind of like MySpace for dogs. I filled out information for both the boys. In my spare time I will be getting around to exploring more. I really will I swear.

Shopping Spree at Dog.com

So we ordered some Christmas stuff for the boys Friday. We originally tried to order Wednesday but something went fubar and after much effort we managed to reverse a pre-authorization and re-order. Hopefully it will go out Monday and get here by Friday. Along with stuff for presents to be put aside we ordered some stuff we really need now as Boris is growing. We were so excited to find a good price on the Kong toys, and Cherokee will be so thrilled to get his own Kong. For $48 USD we have the following arriving:

1 Senior Kong (purple/white type) in large

1 Senior Kong snaps mini

1 Stuff-n Paste in mint

1 Extreme Kong (the black type) in large

2 canisters of Kong squeaky tennis balls

2 medium puppy Ziggies by Kong

1 Stretch and Fetch fire hose toy

1 Orbee Snowball toy from Planet Dog

2 Triple Crown Clickers

1 Triple Crown All Flavors treats

*UPDATE-Our package arrived yesterday and the boys were very excited once they figured out there was stuff in there for them. They were each allowed one toy/chew for now and the rest got put away for later/Christmas (although Tim insists Cherokee celebrates Chanukah because of Auntie Elaine). They wasted no time in enjoying their new toys.
